guidance on the LEED exam enabling you to pass the exam in first attempt. We
will start with the word LEED, what is LEED?
it is acronym of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It is a
registered trademark by USGBC, no one else can use it in business other than
USGBC. This brings another question into play. What is USGBC, USGBC is an
acronym for United State Green Building Council. The USGBC promotes
sustainability in the buildings, design construction and operation.
When we mention LEED we should think about what LEED
certification can do. It can improve sustainability, better energy performance,
and is better for the triple bottom line. LEED by far is the most widely used
green building system globally and works for buildings in all phases, that is
design construction and operation. LEED Green Associate credential is in high
demand.
This is applicable for all types of buildings including
Hospitals, Hotels, Commercial and residential structures. There are thousands
of LEED professionals around the world. LEED can measure the performance of a
building through set KPIs. For example energy performance, water efficiency,
and waste diversion. LEED provides baseline against which one can understand
the savings they achieved. LEED-certified buildings can save lots of money.
The LEED buildings could be 2 to 5% more costly when
constructing but have less operational cost. LEED buildings have better indoor
environmental quality. The occupants are considered to be happier and healthier
in LEED certified buildings. LEED has several certification types such as LEED
BD+C, LEED existing Building operation, and maintenance, LEED interior Design,
and construction (ID+C), LEED neighborhood development (ND). There are four
LEED certification levels starting from certified, then silver to gold and
lastly platinum that earn more than 80 points. Higher certification means
better and more sustainable buildings. Who can become LEED Green Associate?
